Thursday , February 21st and Friday 22nd, Slow Food Limerick in conjunction with Aubars and LimerickSpeedDating.com are bringing love to Limerick – gourmet style
The Gourmet Slow Food Dinner is open to all on Thursday 21st. The six course French-inspired Slow Food dinner boasts a luxurious menu featuring local produce and fine dining with Limerick’s long standing favourite, Aubars.
Champagne and Clarinbridge oysters will greet you upon arrival, followed by many amuse bouche, wonderful wild ocean fish, seasonal organic vegetables and a Slow Food ’slow roast’, with vegetarians also catered for. Expertly matched wines will be provided by Le Febvre, Slow Food Ireland national sponsors.
But we have not forgotten about our unattached Limerick lovelies and on Friday 22nd of February at Aubars, Slow Food Limerick & Region in conjunction with LimerickSpeedDating.com brings you a unique ‘Slow Dating’ night reserved especially for the single gourmands who love their food matched with fine company!
Padraic Frawley of Aubars has promised an especially designed surprise multi-course gourmet menu for this special night where the emphasis is on ’slow’ dating – no rushing around timing conversations on this night –everything will be at a relaxed leisurely pace, right from the cocktail reception featuring lime-wedged mojitos and mouth-wateringly delicious fresh watermelon cocktails, to the gourmet specially created Slow Food ‘romantic blend’ coffee by local roasters, Ponaire.
This unique pleasurably paced fine food evening with a dash of dating in the mix will be managed by Limerick’s very own dating company run by Aidan Kearney of LimerickSpeedDating.com, who is taking a new angle on his speed dating evenings to complement the Slow Food way. Aidan promises a relaxed evening of dining in groups and some expertly arranged table-changing between courses! Aubars Latin Club swings into action downstairs after dinner and entry is free for Slow Dating diners.
Bookings are being taken by Niall and Alex at Aubars on 061-317799 for both gourmet evenings. The open to all Gourmet Slow Food Dinner is €69 per person and the ‘Slow Dating’ dinner for singles is €65 per person.
Discounted prices are available for Slow Food members (€55 per person for the Gourmet Slow Food Dinner and €50 per person for the singles ‘Slow Dating’ evening). If you are not a member and want to avail of ongoing benefits and discounts to Slow Food events, join online in advance at www.slowfoodireland.com and have your membership number with you upon booking.
Both events are proudly promoted by the voluntary Slow Food Limerick & Region group which is a newly set-up chapter of Slow Food International that aims to promote good, clean and fair food by way of supporting local food producers and projects that uphold its principles.
